Jesus is the New Moses
Scripture: Psalm 63:1-4, Matthew 2:13-23, Genesis 3, Hosea 11:1, Matthew 8, Romans 8:38, Genesis 1-2, Acts 17
Jesus is portrayed as the new Moses in Matthew’s Gospel, entering into our human exile to lead us back home to God. Like Moses who delivered Israel from Egypt, Jesus delivers us from the alienation we experience due to sin. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus offers a way out of our brokenness and isolation. He invites us to repent, believe, and follow Him as King, promising to restore our relationship with God, others, and creation. When we trust Jesus as our deliverer, He not only sympathizes with our pain but leads us toward our true home in God’s Kingdom.
