The apostle Paul describes the Christian life as a focused race where Christ himself is the prize. To run this race effectively, we must stop replaying past failures and spiritual highlight reels that keep us looking backward. Instead, we need to strain forward with determination, knowing there is always more of Christ to discover. This pursuit begins from a place of rest in God’s finished work, is fueled by consistent engagement with Scripture, and is sustained through Christian community. Making Christ our one thing transforms everything else in our lives.
