Biblical lament is a powerful expression of faith that allows us to bring our raw emotions before God while still trusting in His goodness. Following the pattern of crisis questions, bold prayer, and choosing to trust, lament helps us navigate difficult seasons by being honest with God about our feelings. Psalm 13 demonstrates how David moved from deep despair to confident trust without his circumstances changing. Jesus Himself experienced lament on the cross, identifying with our sense of abandonment, which assures us that God will never forsake those who are in Christ.
