The Incarnation
Scripture: Luke 1:26-38
The Incarnation, God becoming man in the person of Jesus Christ, is one of the most staggering truths in all of Christianity. Jesus came for two primary reasons: to be our Savior and to be our King. His name literally means the Lord saves, pointing directly to humanity’s greatest need, which is rescue from sin and its consequences. Born of a virgin through the power of the Holy Spirit, He entered the world without sin, making Him uniquely qualified to stand in our place. He lived perfectly, died on the cross, and rose again, accomplishing everything necessary for our salvation. He also reigns as King forever, a fulfillment of the ancient promise made to David in the Old Testament. Because He is King, we can rest in the truth that God is on His throne, nothing surprises Him, and He rules with love. The Incarnation is not just a Christmas story. It is a truth worth a lifetime of wonder.
