The Christian life involves a spiritual battle between the Holy Spirit and our sinful flesh. While the Spirit draws us toward holiness and life, our flesh pulls us toward selfishness and emptiness. The flesh manifests through sensual sins, superstitious sins, and social sins that damage relationships. Victory comes not through our own efforts but by resting in Christ’s righteousness and relying on the Spirit’s power through Scripture, prayer, and Christian community. Though the battle is real, the Spirit is stronger, and Jesus has already secured the ultimate victory.
