Made in His Image
Scripture: Genesis 1:26-31
In a world shaped by artificial intelligence and rapid technological change, the ancient question of human identity has never felt more urgent. Culture tells us to look inward and discover who we are, but that foundation shifts with our changing desires and circumstances. Genesis chapter one offers something far more stable: our identity is not something we discover within ourselves but something we receive from God, who created us intentionally in His own image. Sin has tarnished that image over time, much like centuries of soot layered over the Sistine Chapel frescoes. But Jesus came to restore what sin has broken, and through faith in Him, the Holy Spirit works from the inside out to shape us back into the image God always intended. As we walk with Christ, we are better equipped to engage wisely with technology, asking honest questions about how it is affecting our relationship with God, our relationships with others, and the formation of our souls. Our identity is received from God, and that truth is the most stable ground we can stand on in a world that keeps shifting beneath our feet.
